tommy and Zaneeta in the Lexington theatre company’s production of The Music Man, 2018
about me
Hi, I’m laura! I’m a singer, actor, dancer from jupiter, florida. I am a graduate of Penn State University, earning my B.f.a. in musical theatre.
i practice theatre because i believe storytelling is the vessel to feed our inherent desire to connect, feel seen, and be heard. when all humans are heard and feel they belong, can we begin to lead our lives with empathy, acceptance, and relentless generosity.
I am passionate about challenging the status quo, lending my voice and skills to those who need it, and honoring classic and golden age theatre by engaging with the material from a unique perspective. Along with performing, i am ardent about giving back to the community. whether it be cultivating authenticity and empowerment in artists, educating young people about the importance of voting, or spreading awareness about reducing our carbon footprint, I am rooted in my devotion to sharing everything I know so far with others.
When I’m not doing Theatre, i’m, coffee in hand, nose-deep in novels ranging from Tolkien to sinek (click HERE to see what I’m currently reading!), studying the effectiveness of Linklater technique in creating authentic emotion, (which I based my 2020 Schreyer honors thesis on), lost in my favorite thrift store, or teaching Pilates at my home away from home, Pilates People (Come move with me!).
Thank you for visiting my site, and I look forward to talking to you soon.
